The East Street Deli Sessions - The Goudies

The Goudies New single release from husband and wife Americana duo The Goudies — recorded live in a ‘tiny’ deli.

I know I’m still me,and I love that you’re still you.But isn’t life sweeternow we’re two”— THE GOUDIES, TWO.

THE GOUDIES (GOW-dees) are South Wales based, husband and wife folk-country duo — Sam & Beth Goudie. Their closeharmonies and honest sound have drawn comparison with the ‘California Sound’ of 60s/70s Laurel Canyon and Americanaartists such as The Civil Wars and Gillian Welch & David Rawlings. As singers and songwriters they explore the relationship oflove, faith, and the spaces in between — always ending in hope.

A favourite from The Goudies’ live show, "Two" was originally released on Beth’s solo album in 2019. It is a moving reflection on the simple beauty of building a life as a married couple – two independent individuals, forming something even better together. The song was recorded live at the award winning local business and ‘tiny’ independent delicatessen – The East Street Deli, Wimborne. The setting was chosen as a tribute to Sam and Beth’s weekly visits to the shop during the UK lockdown, and the Tiny Show Tuesday live streams that formed The Goudies whilst they lived in the town. The release has been featured on BBC Wales Welsh A-List– and is accompanied by a series of videos shot alongside the recording at the deli – including Tiny Show favourite ‘A Town Called Bel Air’ – The Goudies’ ‘Will It Country?’ version of the Fresh Prince of Bel Air theme.

Recorded and produced by Sean Hatton live at The EastStreet Deli in Wimborne, Dorset.

Mastered by Pete Maher (U2, Damien Rice, La La Land).
